5 Easy Reels/TikTok Concepts for When You Aren't Feeling Creative

Content creation sounds so trendy and fun. It's a very "in" career path. But here's the cold hard truth: it's really tough to keep coming up with new concepts that will connect with your audience and keep up with current trends while also staying within in your brand pillars and staying relevant with current events and pop culture, and keeping up on the best editing tools for videos and photos and - and - and ... the list goes on and on. We're here to help you out if you've found yourself in a creative rut when it comes to your Reels/TikToks. Try out these 5 easy ideas to start pumping out video content like a pro.

1. Film Yourself Working and Use the Voice to Text Feature to Share Your Actual Thoughts

This trend is low effort because you don't even have to be in the shot, but it has high pay off because it can be very funny. It can be a great way to showcase your products without doing a video that pushes your products as an advertisement. This trend can also work for any old footage you have of yourself or your products. Use the voice to text feature (only found on TikTok) and add in what you were really thinking during that presentation for work you didn't want to give. Your followers will definitely relate.

2. Day in the Life

This trend has been around for a long time, but viewers still love it. Simply take multiple random clips of what you're doing throughout the day. If you feel like putting in extra effort, add a voiceover (or voice to text if you're using TikTok), a trending sound that matches the vibe of your video, and you're done. This idea is great because you don't have to plan out your shots in advance. Try setting a timer for every hour during your day to remind you to shoot a small clip of whatever you're doing at the moment.

3. Introduce Yourself

If you've gained followers since the last time you "introduced" yourself on social media, it might be time to pop on and say hello. Make sure your face is in the video (I know, none of us want to do that part, but it will pay off), and then film yourself saying your name, what you or your business is passionate about, and a quick explanation of what you do. And it's done! Or if the idea of talking in the video is just too scary for where you're at right now, try creating a video to a sound like the one below. You're still in the video, but all you have to do is point.

4. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Trend

This trend is great because it gets your face on screen but very little filming is actually required, and you don't have to talk. Create a question that as 4 multiple choice answers (just like in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire). Make sure to have a funny comparison between the answer you choose, and the actual correct answer(s), like in the videos below.

5. Repurpose Content Into a Video

So you've already written a killer Instagram caption or blog post. Great! Put on a cute outfit (or don't - TikTok is very chill) and talk about the main points of your Instagram or blog post. We turned our blog post about prepping your Instagram for 2021 into the TikTok below. We didn't have to do any prep work for this because we'd already done the research for the blog post. Work smarter not harder.
